Walsall boss Michael Flynn has confirmed that midfielder Jack Earing has suffered another injury setback, with the 22-year-old set to undergo scans in a bid to learn the extent of his issues.
The injury, which he is believed to have picked up in training, saw the former FC Halifax Town man miss the Saddlers' Emirates FA Cup Third Round victory over Stockport County, though he was always in his teammates' thoughts.
Jack is no stranger to a spell on the sidelines, with an Achilles injury seeing him miss three months of action earlier this season, something Michael Flynn is all too aware of.
Speaking shortly after Sunday's FA Cup triumph over County, the gaffer confirmed his team were planning to pay tribute to Jack, with the gaffer going on to discuss the injury in more detail.
Flynn said; "They had brought his shirt with him and were going to wave it at the away fans if we scored in front of them – I’m not sure what happened with that but they all think a lot of him.
"We will know more early in the week when he goes to have a scan but it is a big blow for Jack, he’s just coming back from an injury and for the club.
"We’ve had our fair share of injuries this year, probably a fifth of our budget has been wiped out with them, but at the moment we are all only thinking of Jack and hope it’s not as serious as first thought."
