Walsall's opponents in the Third Round of the 2022/23 Emirates FA Cup have been confirmed after Stockport County defeated League One Charlton Athletic on Wednesday evening.
Taking place at County's Edgeley Park ground, the former National League outfit bagged three goals to Athletic's one, with a Will Collar treble being the highlight of a good night for the home side, as they booked their place alongside the Saddlers.
Charlton, who sacked manager Ben Garner on Monday, went into an early lead when County keeper Ben Hinchliffe's failure to deal with a corner saw the ball bounce in off his own defender Akil Wright, but they were soon downed by Collar's hat-trick.
The result means Michael Flynn's Saddlers will make the trip to Greater Manchester and take on County on Sunday, 8th January with kick-off scheduled for 2.00pm.
