PRE-MATCH NEWS & VIEWS
The Saddlers are in fine form, and will arrive at Thursday evening's clash on the back of a welcome win over much-fancied Swindon Town and a result which saw the Reds secure their first away win after conceding first since way back in March 2016.
Falling behind to Ellis Iandolo's second time of asking effort twelve minutes from the break, the Saddlers were able to level the scores before half-time as Romeao Hutton put the ball into the back of his own net before defender Manny Monthé chose the best time to grab his first goal in a Walsall shirt to steal all three points for his side.
Though there will be many better performances to come, the win over the Play-Off chasing Robins could well go down as one of the more crucial results of the campaign when we're looking back at the season as a whole in early May.
Going seven league games without defeat, Michael Flynn's side have steadily climbed the table and are very much looking up rather than down, and are deservedly being seen as one of the dark horses as we near the business end of the campaign.
Whatever the result this midweek, the Saddlers have really grown into the campaign and have shown not only an ability to bounce back from adversity but continue to learn from their mistakes, something which all Reds can truly appreciate following several seasons of stagnation.
Opponents Stockport also arrive at the match on the back of a win as they hit two goals without reply against Crewe Alexandra, a result which adds to their five-nil hammering of Hartlepool United, not to mention their FA Cup triumph over Charlton Athletic.

THE LAST TIME WE MET
