Cambridge United Head Coach Mark Bonner has spoken ahead of his side's League One clash with Derby County and admitted he is looking to recall defender Liam Bennett from his loan spell with the Saddlers.
Speaking via Cambridge Independent, Bonner said; "There’s a good chance of (recalling Bennett). We’ll see where we are after tomorrow’s game, but there’s a good chance of that."
As well as potentially recalling Bennett, Bonner is also hopeful of adding several new recruits to his squad next month, he continued; "The other bits and pieces probably don’t change too much of what we were thinking anyway.
"We will look to add and if we can get one or two in before Bristol Rovers that would be great because it will give everyone a boost.
"We’ll get these two games out of the way first of all and then we’ll see where we are."
Defender Bennett has made twenty-four first-team appearances for the Saddlers since joining on a season-long loan in the summer, including a goal-scoring display against Mansfield Town in October, and his departure would deal a major blow to Walsall's backline.
The Club has made no secret of its desire to retain the services of several of its loan stars, including on-loan Stag Danny Johnson, and will no doubt be in touch with Cambridge in a bid to keep Liam.
