Walsall welcomed Harrogate Town to Poundland Bescot Stadium on Tuesday evening and, following last weekend's one-all draw with Sutton United, went in search of a welcome return to winning ways.
The Saddlers started the game brightly and, after seeing a penalty shout ignored in the opening stages, they were eventually awarded a spot-kick after Liam Kinsella was felled inside the area.
Danny Johnson was the man to step up and take the penalty and saw his goal tally extended as he smashed the ball into the roof of the net to open the scoring.
The second goal of the game also went the way of the Saddlers as defender Liam Gordon finished off a neat attacking move by dispatching the ball into the back of the net, the left-back opening his account for the season.
Harrogate were simply unable to contend with the Saddlers and went on to ship a third goal with more than ten minutes of the first half remaining as Isaac Hutchinson netted his second goal of the season.
Walsall's clean-sheet wasn't to last, however, as Matty Daly got on the end of Sam Folarin's cross and stuck the ball into the net with around seven-minutes of the second-half remaining.
