Walsall went into the game on the back of a midweek win over Harrogate Town, a result which saw the Reds net three first-half goals on the way to a 3-1 victory, and in search of three more much-needed points.
The match got off to something of a slow start, with little action of note for the first half-an-hour, however, there was eventually a goal, and it went the way of the Saddlers as Hayden White opened his account with a close-range effort.
