Match Stats: Sutton United 1 Walsall 1

Here are the Match Stats from the Saddlers' League Two meeting with Sutton United.
The Saddlers returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they made the trip to Gander Green Lane and took on fellow mid-tablers Sutton United.

After losing a midweek Papa John's Trophy - Group C clash to MK Dons on Tuesday evening, Michael Flynn's men were looking to return to winning ways and keep their recent run alive.

The game was a drab and dreary affair with far too much involvement from the match officials, which included the issuing of a red card for Walsall midfielder Brandon Comley for a first-half collision.

The opening goal of the contest came via the spot as Sutton man Rob Milsom was only too happy to slot the ball home after Colby Rowe was dragged down inside the area.

Despite their one-man advantage the hosts were unable to deny the Saddlers as second-half substitute Jacob Maddox bagged his first goal for the club with a well-placed effort from the edge of the area.
