Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn praised his side for their overall performance as they scored three first-half goals to take all three points against Harrogate Town on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Danny Johnson, Liam Gordon, and Isaac Hutchinson were enough to lessen the blow of Matty Daly's late effort to secure three welcome points under the lights at Poundland Bescot Stadium.
Flynn, who was handed the extra pressure of playing in front of members of the Trivela Group who had flown in to discuss future transfer targets, admitted he was pleased with the result, but would have welcomed even more goals to put the game to bed.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Michael said; "For seventy minutes we were spot-on. I'd have liked a few more goals to kill it off, because we let them back into it really and gave them a bit of a lift.
"Harrogate are a hard-working team. Simon has got a very honest group of players and they never give up, so it's always going to be a tough match against them, no matter what the score is.
"It'll be a tough game until the end and I'm really pleased with our performance."
