Following the news that he'd become the latest player to put pen-to-paper on a deal in WS1, Jonas Mukuna has spoken of his delight at earning his first professional contract.
Jonas enjoyed youth spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Queens Park Rangers, and Sutton United before joining the Saddlers on trial in the summer, and has now come to terms on a one-year deal.
Mukuna has already made a few appearances in a Saddlers shirt as he was one of several trialists looking to earn a deal with the club, and the forward is pleased to see his hard work pay off.
Speaking via the club's official website, Jonas said; "I am buzzing. It is something I have always worked hard for throughout my whole life playing football and to sign my professional football contract, my family and I are delighted and I can only just thank God.
"I feel like it is a step that I am now ready to take. I have been working hard to break into the first team and it is now time to kick on and continue working and hopefully, I can cement my place in the squad.
"Being around the squad this summer gave me a taste of what first-team football is like. Playing against Premier League, Championship and League One opposition, it has shown me each and every level. If I get my chance, and hopefully I do get my chance, then I know what is needed of me."
