Walsall's assistant Head Coach Wayne Hatswell has spoken to the local press and offered an update on the injury status of defender Donervon Daniels, who sat out the Red's Papa John's Trophy defeat to the young Hammers.
Hatswell, who was speaking after Kamarai Simon-Swyer's goal saw the visitors open the group stage with a win, insisted Daniels missed the game as a precaution, with the firmer Newport County assistant hoping to have him back for this weekend's clash with Bradford City.
Daniels was forced off during last weekend's disappointing defeat to Grimsby Town and will no-doubt be keen to reclaim his starting spot alongside fellow defenders Peter Clarke and Manny Monthé.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Wayne said; "We're in that realm now where we can't risk anybody, especially someone like Donervon.
"We need everybody for this league campaign. We've got a good medical team here and they've been treating him in the last forty-eight hours.
"It's more of a precaution, really, and just keeping an eye on him. We hope he'll be OK for the next game."
