After winning their opening two league games of the season, attention turned to an EFL Cup clash with Swindon Town, and a chance for the Saddlers to earn a place in the draw for the Second Round.
The match was a drab and dreary affair which burst into life in the final ten minutes or so as firstly, second-half substitute Danny Johnson slotted home from the spot after the visitors were reduced to ten men, before Timmy Abraham opened his account for the season just moments later.
