Walsall have confirmed the signing of Stoke City forward, Douglas James-Taylor, who becomes the club's twelfth signing of the summer.
Joining on a season-long loan, 20-year-old Douglas began his career at Salford City where his impressive performances in their Under 18s caught the eye of the Potters, who he signed for in the summer of 2020.
James-Taylor played regularly for the Under 23s and has 16 goals to his name in Premier League 2, and additionally, he scored a hat-trick within the space of just seven minutes in a Premier League Cup tie against Southend United last season.
The powerful striker also gained experience of men’s football last campaign. His first loan spell came at Wealdstone in the National League before a stint with AFC Fylde in National League North where he scored twice in nine outings.
Speaking via the club's official website, Saddlers Head Coach Michael Flynn insisted he is pleased to add the forward to the squad, he said; "Douglas is coming in and is a very exciting player.
"He’s scored goals and had men’s football out on loan, he’s got a fantastic attitude and he’s a very bright young man.
"He’s coming in with the right attitude to provide competition up front and out wide."
