Another player has made their way through the ranks at Poundland Bescot Stadium as attacking midfielder Ronan Maher made his first-team debut as the Saddlers defeated Hartlepool United on Saturday afternoon.
Replacing summer signing Andy Williams with ten minutes of the game remaining, Ronan played a part in the Saddlers' four-nil thrashing of the Pools as they began the new term in fine style.
Maher is one of a handful of second-year scholars in the club's Academy, is the latest in a long line to progress through to the first-team and is seen as a major prospect in WS1.
The local lad enjoyed a superb 2021/22 as he bagged the majority of goals scored by the Under018s whilst also contributing several assists, despite the team as a while enduring a difficult campaign.
Congratulations, Ronan!
