As Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn begins the process of rebuilding his squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, the club has been linked with a move for Carlisle United defender Joe Riley.
25-year-old Riley, who is a product of the Manchester United youth system, is due to be out of contract at the end of June and is believed to be keen on moving to the Poundland Bescot Stadium following positive discussions with club officials.
Riley, who plays as right-back and right midfield, has amassed five goals and six assists over eighty-four appearances for the Cumbrians, with the Blackpool-born man also making a handful of appearances for Sheffield United and Bradford City before moving to Carlisle in the summer of 2020.
As if to boost the rumour, Joe recently took to social media to confirm he is to leave Carlisle this summer, with the defender believing the club should have offered him better terms after making the better part of one-hundred appearances.
