Following the news that he was among a group of five players set to leave the club at the end of their current contracts, Walsall midfielder Joe Willis has taken to Twitter to thank everyone for their support.
20-year-old Willis, who came through the ranks at the club to pen professional terms in January when he would also go on to make his first-team debut in January 2020, coming on as a second-half substitute during an EFL Trophy defeat to Portsmouth.
Along with forming part of the development team, Joe also enjoyed loan spells with the likes of Salisbury, Leamington, and, most recently, Bromsgrove Sporting, giving him plenty of experience to take into the next chapter of his career.
Speaking via his official Twitter page, Joe said; "Time for a new challenge. Would just like to thank everyone [at Walsall FC] for the last 8 years, it’s been a pleasure.
"I’ve had some great memories with some even people. I wish the fans and the club all the best for the future. ❤️"
