Walsall forward Brendan Kiernan will be hosting a 'CallBK' workshop for young Saddlers fans at The New Art Gallery Walsall on Thursday, 19th May.
Working alongside mental health charity The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and HomeServe, the workshop is aimed to use art as a way of expression to combat mental health.
The workshop is free of charge and will run from 3.00pm until 6.00pm. Participants will also be in with a chance to win some great prizes on the day, including a signed shirt from Brendan.
The 29-year-old, who scored six goals across forty-one first-team appearances last season, is excited about the workshop and hopes to see as many participants as possible.
Speaking via the club's official website, he said; "I’m pleased to be partnering with The New Art Gallery Walsall, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and Homeserve to host a workshop for young people to help them build resilience as a way to improve their mental and emotional well-being."
Monica Shafaq, Chief Executive at Kaleidoscope Group added; "Art plays an important role in supporting mental health, generally undertaking creative activities can promote well-being but it is also great for creating a safe space for social connection, especially for young people, as it allows them to express themselves creatively, without having to use words.
"We are so grateful to Brendan for creating innovative opportunities like this for children and young people to get involved."
