Arriving at the match on the back of last weekend's defeat to Salford City, the sixteenth-placed Saddlers were looking to return to winning ways as they welcomed 17th-placed Leyton Orient to Banks's Stadium.
Walsall started the game brightly but it was the visitor who would open the scoring as an Otis Khan assisted Harry Smith opened the scoring after ten minutes of play, Smith's fifteenth goal of the campaign.
The visitors' strong start continued just six-minutes later as Khan added to his assist as he sent a deflected effort past Carl Rushworth, doubling the O's lead.
