Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn has spoken to members of the local press and offered an update on the injury status of recent signing, Lee Tomlin.
Tomlin, who arrived at the Banks's in February, has managed just five first-team appearances after suffering a bout of COVID before picking up a groin strain during the recent defeat to Leyton Orient.
The 33-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, is expected to undergo a scan with Flynn hoping to have him available for selection before the season comes to an end.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Michael said; "We’re getting him scanned. We’ll just have to wait for those results and see where we go and how he is.
"It’s frustrating. We’ll have to have a look at it. He was looking really sharp in the build-up during that week. His running was good.
"I didn’t sign him to run box-to-box. I signed him for his quality and moments of magic. We’ve seen glimpses of that over a short period of time.
"It would be frustrating if it’s until the end of the season, but it’s one of those things and we need to get on with it."
