Walsall have completed the signing of former Cardiff City striker Lee Tomlin, who joins the club on a deal until the end of the current campaign.
Tomlin, who was a free agent after leaving the Championship Bluebirds in October 2021, had been training with the Saddlers before agreeing terms on a deal, with the Leicester-born forward not playing a competitive game since late 2020.
Beginning his career with youth stints at hometown club and Rushden & Diamonds, his professional breakthrough came with the Diamonds, where he would go on to make 185 first-team appearances, scoring 33 goals.
Lee went on to move to Peterborough United in the summer of 2010 where he went on to make over 156 first-team appearances, scoring 43 goals, before enjoying stints at Middlesbrough, Bournemouth and Bristol City before joining Cardiff City in July 2017.
33-year-old Tomlin made over fifty first-team appearances during an injury-hit spell in the Welsh capital, and also enjoyed loan spells with Nottingham Forest and the Posh before leaving the Cardiff City Stadium late last year.
With 570 first-team appearances to his name, Lee offers plenty of experience to the Saddlers' frontline and, if he can stay fit, should add much-needed firepower to the club's less-than-potent attacking line.
