Arriving at the match on the back of last weekend's dismal 3-1 defeat to Stevenage, Matt Taylor's Saddlers took on in-form Mansfield Town as they looked to earn their first win of the new year.
Unfortunately for the Saddlers, and despite the opp promising opportunity, it was the home side who ultimately took the lead as half-time substitute Harry Charsley smashed the ball beyond Carl Rushworth, and into the back of the net.
Walsall again had opportunities of their own, but eventually fell two behind as Charsley grabbed his second goal of the contest with just two minutes of normal time remaining.
