Walsall goalkeeper Carl Rushworth has taken full responsibility for the red card his teammate Rollin Menayese picked up during the defeat to Exeter City at the weekend.
Rollin picked up an initial yellow card for a foul on Jevani Brown during first-half stoppage time but was forced into action just five minutes into the second forty-five as Rushworth came off his line, leaving the defender stranded against the on-rushing attacker.
Speaking to the media shortly after the Grecians had secured all three points thanks to a two-nil triumph, the on-loan Brighton stopper revealed that he apologised to the defender shortly after full-time.
Carl said; "With Rollin's red card, I take full responsibility. It was like a fluke incident, a one-off, but I take full responsibility for him getting sent off.

"That killed the game, really. As soon as I got in, I apologised to Rollin. I feel bad for him because it was my mistake that led to him getting sent off, and now we miss him for the next game."
