After drawing their most recent outing, a midweek meeting with Crawley Town, the Saddlers were looking to return to winning ways as they welcomed Colchester to the Banks's on Saturday afternoon.
The match got off to a slow start, though, with Walsall enjoying much of the ball, but burst into life midway through the first-half as Otis Khan opened his account for the season, putting the Saddlers into the lead.
Otis was at it again with thirty-two minutes on the clock as he slammed the ball home, capping off a nice attacking move, giving his side a welcome two-goal lead heading into the half-time break.
After enduring a tough start to the second half, the Saddlers were ultimately able to weather the storm before going on to grab a third goal as Jack Earing capped off a superb attacking move to slot the ball home.
