Following the confirmation that he has been issued with a seven game ban, Walsall defender Manny Monthé has issued a statement denying the charge which was laid against him.
The Football Association recently confirmed that the defender will be forced to sit out the next seven games as they ruled him to have breached FA Rule E3.1, with the breach constituting an "Aggravated Breach", which is defined in FA Rule E3.2, as the language included a reference, whether express or implied, to sexual orientation.

FULL FA STATEMENT
Emmanuel Monthé has been suspended for Walsall FC’s next seven
matches, fined £1,200 and ordered to complete a mandatory education
programme for a breach of FA Rule E3.2 that occurred while he was
playing for Tranmere Rovers FC in an EFL League Two match against Forest
Green Rovers FC on Saturday, 1st May 2021.
The FA charged the defender for allegedly using abusive and/or insulting words towards a Forest Green Rovers FC player in the ninth minute of this match, which is contrary to FA Rule E3.1, and also alleged that this constitutes an “aggravated breach”, as defined in FA Rule E3.2, because it included a reference to sexual orientation.
Emmanuel Monthé denied the charge, but an independent Regulatory Commission found it to be proven and imposed these sanctions during a subsequent hearing. The written reasons for these decisions will be published in due course

Published via his official Twitter account, Monthé's statement reads; "I am deeply saddened by the outcome of the FA hearing. Whilst I respect the process that the FA undertakes in such matters, I categorically deny making any such comment.
"The threshold for a proven case for the FA is 'balance of probability' and by its very nature this is much lower than a court of law which must be satisfied 'beyond reasonable doubt'.
"I will serve my 7 game ban and pay the fine issued as I look to put this matter behind me."
