Walsall Head Coach Matthew Taylor has spoken to the local press and admitted he fears losing the Saddlers' loan stars when the Transfer Window reopens this coming January.
Taylor, who has seen his team struggle for consistent form over the opening eleven games of the season, confirmed that loanees Carl Rushworth, George Miller, Rollin Menayese, Kieran Phillips, and Tyrese Shade could all depart.
All five of the club's loan stars have done well since arriving in WS1 and their loss would be a major blow to the team's hopes of avoiding another battle at the foot of the table.
Whilst Taylor agreed that this is 'part and parcel' of the game, he also holds out a glimmer of hope that he will be able to retain his temporary players until the end of the campaign.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Matthew said; "It’s part and parcel of the game, I’m afraid. If a player is doing well, then of course other people, other clubs – and the parent club – will be monitoring that situation.

"But if you’ve got the loan players in the building that are being monitored, you’re doing something right, and they’re doing something right. It’s the nature of the beast, unfortunately.
"One thing I will say is that all the players have their own minds. They have their opinions on where they feel is best for them to play their football.
"It’s a difficult one, but you do understand and accept when you take a player in on loan – whether it’s from a club in a higher division or your division – there’s always that possibility and, unfortunately, they might call that player back."
