Arriving at the match on the back of a three-game unbeaten run, Matthew Taylor's Saddlers travelled North to Boundary Park and took on Oldham Athletic in search of three points as they look to edge further from the dropzone.
Both sides created openings during the opening stages of the match, but it was the Saddlers who ultimately went on to take the lead as Jack Earing grabbed his second goal of the campaign with thirty-three minutes played.
The Saddlers weren't done there as, ten minutes after taking the lead, they added another goal as on-loan Barnsley man George Miller netted his fifth of the campaign, putting the Reds further ahead.
Oldham went on to halve the deficit midway through the second-half played as former Carlisle United attacker Hallam Hope got the better of Carl Rushworth with a well-placed header.
Walsall were able to thwart their opponents advances and eventually went on to re-establish their two-goal lead as Emmanuel Osadebe put the ball beyond the 'keeper with five minutes of normal time remaining.
