Walsall arrived at the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Newport County, a result which saw the team's unbeaten run ended at four games, and in search of a return to winning ways.
The Saddlers took a little while to get into the game and had to be alert to plenty of Rovers efforts before ultimately taking the lead via on-loan Huddersfield Town forward Kieran Phillips, who gave his side the lead with 32 minutes on the clock.
Walsall's lead lasted until the final eleven minutes of the match before the visitors were ultimately able to level the scores as Connor Taylor prodded home to put the game back on level terms - the initial corner ball was poorly dealt with.
The goal-scoring didn't end there either, as the visitors went on to snatch all three points early in second-half stoppage time as substitute Sion Spence was able to prod home following another poorly dealt with set piece.
