Walsall Head Coach Matthew Taylor has spoken to the local press and revealed that attacking midfielder Rory Holden could feature during this afternoon's clash with Forest Green Rovers.
Holden, who is yet to make an appearance so far this season, has missed several week's training with an injury but was able to take part in a full session on Thursday as his team prepared for their third game in just over a week.
Taylor, who has added twelve new players to his squad over the course of the summer, revealed that 23-year-old Holden looked strong and sharp, with the former Bristol City man said to be desperate to get back onto the pitch.
Rory made just twenty-four first-team appearances during a frustrating, injury hit 2020/21, and has also endured a difficult pre-season which saw his miss the majority of friendly contests.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Matthew said; "We’re hopeful that, in some capacity, Rory can be involved. As it stands, Rory has trained with the group and trained well.

"He’s looked good in training. He got slightly frustrated at times because he hasn’t played as much football as he would’ve liked, and his touch maybe isn’t where he expects it to be.
"But that’s normal, and it’s good to have him back with the group. He has trained fully – looked strong and sharp.
"When you’re injured, the only thing you want to do is be back on the grass with the players. But there’s a process you have to go through to build yourself back up.
"It’s great to have him back, and we’re hopeful he can be involved in some capacity at the weekend."
