Speaking shortly after the Saddlers had secured their first win of the season, Taylor insisted the result, which saw Conor Wilkinson open his account for the season, was a platform to build upon.
Summer signing Wilkinson grabbed the only goal of the game with just five minutes on the clock as he found the bottom corner of the goal following some nice play from fellow recent arrival, Jack Earing.
The Saddlers were forced onto the back foot for much of the remainder of the game as they ultimately secured their first win of the season, with on-loan goalkeeper Carl Rushworth also securing his first clean sheet in the league.
Taylor went on to praise his team for their patient display, insisting they 'did what they had to do' in order to win the game, before admitting there is still plenty of work ahead.

Speaking to the assembled media, Matthew said; "They did what they had to do to win the game. I'm slightly disappointed with our use of the ball in the second half, but I'm a lot happier saying that after three points.
"There's huge amounts to improve, but this gives us a platform to try to build on. What they need to do is reproduce that every day.
"We're trying to create habits, and I'm extremely pleased for the players, as it was a tough week for them – physically and mentally. Well done to them."
