Walsall FC are expected to confirm the identity of their new Head Coach within the next week or so, with discussions between the two parties said to be well underway.
Speaking during the latest Working Party Meeting, officials are believed to have confirmed that, as long as there aren't any last-minute issues, they hope to be in a position to unveil their new leading man later this week or early next week.
The club is searching for a new man to guide the team into the 2021/22 League Two campaign following the recent departure of Brian Dutton, who was dismissed following the Saddlers' worst-ever finish in 2020/21.
The bookmakers are currently backing former Crystal Palace and Reading boss Steve Coppell to take charge, but there are a number of others also in the running as the club continues to work through the list of candidates.
Whoever does take charge will have to work closely with recently appointed Technical Director Jamie Fullarton, who has been tasked with overhauling much of the club's backroom setup as chairman Leigh Pomlett and his fellow board members look to rebound following last season's all-time low.
