Walsall FC are understood to have failed in their attempt to retain the services of striker Josh Gordon, with the former Leicester City man turning down their advances late last year.
According to reports, first published by the Express & Star, Gordon, who was listed among the Saddlers' released list earlier this week, was offered a two-year deal by club officials in November but insisted he had no interest in staying in WS1 beyond the end of his current deal.
