Walsall FC has confirmed that young midfielder Sam Perry has become the latest player to put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the club.
Joining the recently announced deals for Alfie Bates, Liam Kinsella, and Emmanuel Osadebe the 19-year-old is a graduate of the club’s academy having joined from Aston Villa and has cemented his place in the first-team picture after making his professional debut in the Papa John’s Trophy against Portsmouth last season.
Sam was handed his league debut by Head Coach Brian Dutton against Bradford City in February and has gone on to make ten first-team appearances scoring his first professional goal against Bolton Wanderers in March.
Head Coach Brian Dutton spoke to club journalists and admitted he was delighted to secure the services of one of the club’s exciting young prospects. Speaking via the club's official website, Brian said; "Sam Perry is the future of Walsall Football Club.
"He’s an outstanding talent and someone who has got a lot of development left in him but to come into the EFL and show the maturity that he’s already shown has been incredible. I’m delighted he has agreed a new deal."
