Following the news that young midfielder Sam Perry had become the latest player to put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the club, the 19-year-old has spoken of his delight to extend his stay in WS1.
Joining the recently announced deals for Alfie Bates, Liam Kinsella, and Emmanuel Osadebe the former graduate of the club’s academy, who signed after being released by Aston Villa, and has cemented his place in the first-team picture after making his professional debut in the Papa John’s Trophy against Portsmouth last season.
Sam, who was handed his league debut by Head Coach Brian Dutton against Bradford City in February, has gone on to make ten first-team appearances scoring his first professional goal against Bolton Wanderers back in March.
Speaking via the club's official website, Sam admitted he was proud to have signed a new deal and is excited to continue his journey at the Banks’s Stadium. He said; "I am delighted to get the deal over the line and to sign a new contract with the club, it feels great.
"I feel like I am doing well, I am starting games back-to-back and I can’t thank the gaffer enough for putting his trust in me and for him to keep putting his trust in me for when he does put me in the starting line-up.
"I have to give my all every time that I play and I always will give my all for every game that I play for the rest of this season and moving forward.
"Alfie and Kins have both come through the academy and have both made so many appearances for the first team and hopefully now I can push on and do the same."
