Walsall Head Coach Brian Dutton has spoken to the local press and welcomed the club's recent decision to recruit a Director of Football, but insisted they must strive to make the right appointment.
"Maik is the goalkeeper coach and specialises in that. I'm doing the warm-up out there too. It's not easy but I'm not crying about it.
Dutton, who is yet to secure a victory since he replaced Darrell Clarke in the hot seat, believes the club must not rush in to an appointment as making the wrong move could put the club on the wrong track.
However, the 35-year-old insisted he is looking forward to the club's appointment and believes that a good signing will help both him and the club in the long term.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Brian said; "Every appointment at the football club has to be the right one.
"A director of football coming in, if it's the right appointment they will add so much value to the football club.
"If it's the wrong appointment and they're at the club for the wrong reasons, then it'll put the football club on the wrong track.
"If it's the right person with the right motivations, it will be a good decision. I look forward to working with anybody that comes into the football club."
Dutton is meant to be assisted by defender Mat Sadler and goalkeeping coach Maik Taylor but, as injuries have seen Sadler selected in the starting line-up leaving Brian to both select the team and take part in the pre-match warm up sessions with Taylor concentrating on the 'keepers.
But, despite the heavy workload, Dutton has insisted he is enjoying the level of control, admitting he is something of a megalomaniac.
Brain continued; "I am a bit of a one man band at the minute, there's no hiding that. My assistant is getting rolled out onto the pitch.
"Maik is the goalkeeper coach and specialises in that. I'm doing the warm-up out there too. It's not easy but I'm not crying about it.
"I enjoy it and look forward to it. I'm a bit of a megalomaniac at the best of times so I have no problem with that whatsoever."
