Following the news that he'd joined the Saddlers on loan for the remainder of the season, Oxford United striker Derick Osei Yaw has spoken of his desire to get amongst the goals and drive the team forward.
Speaking via the club's official website, Derick said; "I am very happy to join a project like Walsall's, great club with a great history, looking forward to meet my teammates and accomplishing the club's goals.
The 22-year-old has scored three goals in ten first-team appearances, including one against Darrell Clarke's Saddlers at Banks’s Stadium back in November, since joining the U’s in the summer of 2020.
The Toulouse-born forward been capped by France for their Under 19s and Under 20s. He also had spells at his hometown club along with short stints at Brest and Béziers before arriving at the Kassam Stadium.
The striker, who was signed shortly after Elijah Adebayo completed his move to Luton Town, is looking forward to joining his new teammates and can’t wait to get started as his spell with the Saddlers gets underway.
"In this loan I hope to have time to play matches and help my teammates for our goals for the rest of the season.
"I am a speedy player who likes to score goals and technically I am quite comfortable too but most importantly, to be decisive for my team."
