According to reports from sources close to the club, Scottish Championship side Heart of Midlothian have had a move for Walsall striker Elijah Adebayo turned down, as the Saddlers seek to keep hold of one of their in-form players.
23-year-old Adebayo is out of contract in the summer but it is being reported the Saddlers still opted to turn sown their approach and no agreement has been reached for the player to leave the Banks's Stadium.
Walsall are believed to be negotiating contracts with several of their soon-to-be out of contract players, with midfielders Liam Kinsella and Alfie Bates recently agreeing extended terms in WS1.
Adebayo, a former Fulham prospect who has netted eight times and made twenty-seven first-team appearances so far this season, has fought his way to become Darrell Clarke's first choice striker, entering some superb performances along the way.
Hearts currently sit top of the Championship as they try to navigate a return to the Scottish Premiership and are said to be keen to add Elijah to their ranks as they look to return to the Premiership at the end of the season.
It is not currently known if the club will make a further approach for Elijah, but with the January Transfer Window still very much open, the Saddlers can expect a nervy few weeks as they look to avoid any major departures.
