Walsall striker Josh Gordon has spoken to club journalists and admitted he was pleased to get back amongst the goals after hitting the back of the net against Morecambe on Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old former Leicester City man scored his fifth goal of the campaign at the Mazuma Stadium as the Saddlers were held to a draw on a stormy evening in the North West.
Gordon, who spent a spell on the sidelines earlier this season, is keen to take the positives from the game as he prepares hopes to retain his place in the starting line-up against his hometown club Port Vale at the weekend.
Speaking via the club's official website, Josh said; "I'm glad to be back on the scoresheet. It's a good ball by Eli. The gaffer said before the game he put me in that position to try and get in at the back post and that's what I did.
"Luckily I reacted well and got the goal to get us going. It would have been nice to get three points either today or on Saturday but we got another point and all we can do is take the positives into Saturday against Vale, which will be a tough game.
"It's my home town so there is that competitive side there. The main thing is the team trying to get the three points and work our way up the table. Make these draws positive."
