Former Walsall loanee Jake Scrimshaw has made a swift return to League Two by signing for Newport County on loan for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, the Saddlers are said to be in the market for so-called 'free loans' as Clarke seeks to strengthen his squad before the Transfer Window closes at the end of the month.
Scrimshaw, a graduate of the AFC Bournemouth academy, bagged two goals during a sixteen-game stay in WS1 and returned to the Cherries earlier this week, following the expiry of his short-term deal.
Walsall boss Darrell Clarke had sought to retain the Isle of Wight-born forward for the remainder of the campaign but was thwarted as the Championship side opted to send him elsewhere.
Speaking via Newport County's official website, Scrimshaw said; "I’m buzzing to get started. I met the lads today and got all the papers signed, so I’m looking forward to playing for the club now.
"I played against Newport when I was with Walsall and I liked the way that they played. They always look to play football and I think that will suit my game. When I found out about the club’s interest, it was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down."
