Heading into the match on the back of a quartet of wins, the Saddlers were looking to both continue their fine spell of form and maybe move into the coveted Play-Off places at the expense of opponents, Salford.
Despite creating the more promising of the opening chances, the Saddlers would ultimately fall behind to James Wilson's seventh goal of the season sixteen minutes into the first-half.
The home side would go on to grab their and the game's second goal of the game with three minutes of normal time remaining as substitute Luke Burgess slotted home to end Walsall's unbeaten run - which had seen them avoid defeat for six games.
