Central defender Tom Leak, an academy graduate who joined the club from Wyrley Juniors' Under-14s Tigers in 2015, remains the only Saddler out on loan as he continues his short-term spell with National League South outfit, Bath City.
Tom, who formed part of the Bath side which was knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup by Havant & Waterlooville in midweek, was named on the bench as the Romans faced Slough Town in the league.
Celebrating his 20th birthday, Tom, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Salisbury last season, had to wait until the 55th minute before taking to the field but couldn't prevent his temporary team from slipping to a second defeat in a week.
Played at the Rebels' Arbour Park stadium, the match saw three goals scored but none of them arrived until the final six-minutes of the match as Slough scored the winning goal late on to break Bath hearts.
Slough, who had dominated much of the proceedings, finally broke the deadlock six-minutes from time as Cameron McGilp fired the ball across City captain Ryan Clarke and into the back of the net.
City were able to put themselves back on level terms just two minutes later as Donovan Wilson ended a neat passage of play by seemingly putting his side on course for a welcome point.
Not long after Wilson had squandered a chance to snatch all three points Slough bagged the spoils for themselves as Max Worsfold unleashed an effort from just outside the area, leaving Clarke stranded as his team slipped to a late defeat.
Attention now turns to next weekend's home clash with Hemel Hempstead Town, where the Romans will be looking to return to winning ways.
