After opening their campaign with a narrow 3-2 defeat to Huddersfield Town ahead of the already mentioned defeat to Salford, the Saddlers went into todays game looking for their first Central League win of the season.
Opponents Grimsby Town were meant to open their campaign with a clash against Salford City in late September but saw that match postponed, meaning today's clash was their first outing of the season.
As with all of the Saddlers' previous Central League outings Tuesday afternoon's match saw a hatful of goals scored but it was the Mariners who ran out winners by three-goals-to-two with Joe Willis & Saif Mukadam netting for the Saddlers whilst Ira Jackson Jr. (2) and Luis Adlard scored for the home side.
