Central defender Tom Leak, an academy graduate who joined the club from Wyrley Juniors' Under-14s Tigers in 2015, remains the only Saddler out on loan as he continues his short-term spell with National League South outfit, Bath City.
Tom suffered his first defeat in a Bath shirt last weekend as Dartford grabbed the only goal of the game via Afghanistan international midfielder Noor Husin, seven minutes into the second-half.
Looking to bounce back in style Tom was once again named in the starting XI as the Romans faced Havant & Waterlooville in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup with a place in Monday's First Round (proper) up for grabs.
Sadly City’s hopes of reaching the next stage of the competition were swiftly quashed during wet and windy Twerton Park. Following a busy start to the contest the visitors broke the deadlock with twenty-two minutes on the clock when Tommy Wright made space on the edge of the box before unleashing a stunning shot into the top corner of the goal.
Havant made their hosts pay for a couple of wasted chances when they added a second goal just before the hour mark when Roarie Deacon drilled a shot past goalkeeper and captain Ryan Clarke from 18 yards.
Following a couple more wasted Romans opportunities, including one from debutant Donovan Wilson, who was making his first appearance after suffering an injury during pre-season, an unmarked Theo Widdrington lashed the ball home to make it three-nil and send Jerry Gill’s side crashing out of the cup.
A disappointing result for Tom and Bath City who now go on to prepare for next weekend's National League clash with Slough Town.
