Walsall defender Hayden White has spoken ahead of this weekend's League Two clash with Colchester United and discussed his desire to share his knowledge with some of the Saddlers' up and coming players.
The former Mansfield Town right-back, who made his Saddlers league debut against Forest Green Rovers at the weekend, admits the dressing room is young and is ready and waiting to share his experiences with his new teammates.
The 25-year-old has spent the last few weeks working on his fitness and after helping his new team to secure a welcome awayday point against Rovers last weekend is keen to do all he can for the team.
Speaking via the cub's official website, White said; "I’ve got a lot of experience in this league so that’s what I’m trying to bring in the dressing room.
"I know the dressing room is quite young but I’m sure I can be called upon to help the younger lads. I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve recently moved up as well so that’s good.
"I’ve been doing a lot of fitness work behind the scenes. The gaffer pulled me and told me that he was going to put me in.
"I’m not happy with the collective performance but satisfied with my own performance dare I say so it’s one of many I hope."
White, who joined the Saddlers as a free agent following his release by the Stags, went on to admit that the Saddlers were poor against Forest Green before insisting the they can and will improve.
Hayden continued; "It’s not the best performance. We know we need to be a lot better than that.
"We just need to pick up points, we were lucky maybe but I think we can improve on that and I’m sure we will. We didn’t get going.
"You can have those games throughout the season so let’s hope it was a one off."
