Walsall manager Darrell Clarke has confirmed that he has no plans to make any signings ahead of today's international Transfer Deadline.
With the domestic Transfer Window set to remain open until 5.00pm on Friday, 16th October Clarke is under no pressure to completed any prospective deals.
However, when speaking to Express & Star reporter Liam Keen, Clarke admitted he is unable to bring in any players as his budget is at an end.
As the Covid-19 pandemic plays havoc with life as we know it, Walsall and clubs up and down the football pyramid have seen budgets slashed as income continues to fall.
Clarke, who retained the vast majority of his mid-table securing team at the end of last season, has already added five players to his squad and is now only in the market for 'free loans' as he looks to work with what he has.
The manager, speaking as he prepares his side for this weekend's League Two clash with Colchester United, said; "They’ll be nothing happening with the financial state, I’d be amazed if that changes.
"Unless it was a free loan and it would have to be a free loan if I’m honest with you. They’ll be nobody coming in.
"Make no illusions, where we’re at financially and as a football club, they’ll certainly be no money spent on any player coming into the football club in this window. If I maybe get a free loan that would be quite helpful but we’ll have to wait and see."
