Defender George Nurse, who is the Saddlers' first signing ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, has joined the club on a season-long loan from Championship side Bristol City.
The 21-year-old left-back enjoyed a successful loan spell at fellow League Two side Newport County last season, where he featured twenty-six times in all competitions.
He also scored his first EFL goal in October 2019 with a 90th minute winner against Carlisle United. Nurse also impressed on loan at Weston-super-Mare AFC during the 2018/19 season.
After securing his first signing of the summer, Saddlers boss Darrell Clarke spoke to club journalists and expressed how pleased he was to bring the young defender to the club.
Speaking via the club's official website, Clarke said; "I watched George a few times last season whilst he was out on loan at Newport County and I was extremely impressed with him.
"He has the ability to play as a full-back, a wing-back and he can play left midfield as well which is very appealing and he has great potential.
"We’ve got a great relationship with Bristol City and we’re very grateful to them for trusting us with another one of their youth prospects."
