Walsall manager Darrell Clarke spoke to club journalists following last weekend's pre-season defeat to Crewe Alexandra, and confirmed he is keen to add players to his squad.
Clarke, who retained the vast majority of his squad following last season's mid-table finish, has already loaned in Bristol City defender George Nurse and completed the permanent signing of Robins attacker Rory Holden.
The Mansfield-born boss went on to admit he and his coaching staff will have to work hard to both improve the current players and bring in fresh faces as they look to hit the ground running when the 2020/21 campaign gets underway.
Speaking via the club's official website, Darrell said; "It isn’t going to happen straight away and we’ll have to pick and choose and see what’s available in the loan market.
"I’ve got a healthy group to work with that knows each other very well and there’s no quick fixes to come to within the group. The coaching staff and I have got to work hard to improve them.
"I see improvement, and through the course of last season. We’ll be looking to try and hit the ground running and hopefully two or three additions on the way come into the side before the end of the window."
