Recent reports suggest the 2019/20 season for clubs in League One and League Two is unlikely to resume, with several journalists believing both divisions will be concluded with a 'weighted points-per-game system' being used to determine where each club will end their season.
Despite the government's recent social distancing rule change now possibly allowing for fans to return soon, Saddlers owner Pomlett believes it could be possible to adhere to the guidelines and allow a small group of fans back into Fortress Bescot.
Pomlett, who has sought to keep fans updated with the latest goings on at the club throughout the Covid-19 crisis, said; "You could make the case, it’s not by any means certain yet.
"With a stadium as big as ours we could limit the crowd so social distancing could exist within the stadium.
"At the moment that’s conjecture, we don’t know if we can do that, but you can see it being feasible that we could operate with a social distancing regime within the stadium in front of fans.
"That’s a bit of a way off but it’s some of thinking that’s going on, so it could happen but it’s an idea and not a decision that has been made."
Manager Darrell Clarke, who recently marked one year as manager of the Saddlers, also believes a socially-distanced crowd could work, with club officials using the often-underutilised seats to spread supporters around the ground.
Darrell added; "It will be interesting if the social distancing stayed for a while and whether that could take place in a stadium like ours.
"Premier League clubs would struggle with that but it’s potentially something to look at, social distancing might be able to happen in our football stadium."
