"Jack's Superb" - Clarke Backs Nolan to Earn More First-Team Football

Walsall manager Darrell Clarke has spoken ahead of this weekend's League Two clash between the Saddlers and Exeter City and confirmed that winger Jack Nolan will be getting more opportunities to impress between now and the end of the season.
18-year-old Nolan joined Walsall from Reading’s academy during the January Transfer Window and has gone on to make four substitute appearances, but has yet to start a game for his new club.

Manager Darrell Clarke, a keen advocate of several of the club's younger players, has insisted that Jack and several other of the Saddlers' prospects could see action over the remaining weeks of the 2019/20 campaign.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Darrell said; "Jack’s superb, he’s been on the bench hasn’t he.

"We’ve got five goals in the last two games, been on the front foot and Jack’s another one of our players that we’re looking to get one or two opportunities into him between now and the end of the season.

"There’s a few for that sort of case but I want to be winning games. You’ve got to be careful with your younger players, I want to get the balance of being protective of them but then also putting them in at the right times.

"Alfie Bates is training superbly, I’m really pleased with our young lads - Perry, Willis, Bates and Pearce, they’re working away very hard and hopefully they’ll have good futures at this football club."
