Holden Talks Improved Displays, a Positive Mindset & His Desire to Net More Goals

Walsall's on-loan Bristol City midfielder Rory Holden has spoken ahead of this afternoon's League Two clash between the Saddlers and Stevenage and says the mood in the camp is positive ahead of kick-off.
The 22-year-old, who has made thirty-five appearances since joining on a season-long loan in the summer, has been in fine form as of late and has played a major role in helping the Saddlers to a four-game unbeaten run.

Holden, a former Derry City apprentice who enjoyed loan spells with Barrow and Rochdale after joining Bristol City in May 2017, is keen to help the Saddlers climb the table and insists the mood is high after a run of improved performances.

Rory, a former Northern Ireland Under-21 international who bagged one goal in his three appearances for the Green and Whites, went on to discuss his desire to add more goals to his game.

Speaking via the club's official website, Rory said; "Everyone is buzzing in the camp, the past few games we have been playing well - maybe we didn't get the result we wanted at the weekend.

"But the mood is positive. As a collective the target is to finish as high up the table as possible and try and get as many wins.

"For myself it's to try and chip in with as many goals and assists and help the team as much as possible."

Darrell Clarke's Saddlers face bottom-of-the-table Boro with a view to stretching their unbeaten run to five games and Holden insists the Saddlers won’t be taking Alex Revell’s side lightly despite their opponents losing seven on the bounce.

Rory continued; "We go into every game the same way; it doesn't matter about league positions. In this league everyone is sort of similar, there's not much between the top half and the bottom half.

"We'll go in and try and do a job, get three points and come back up the road. When we played Stevenage I think they played well and we didn't play so well.

"Now, compared to the start of the season, we're a different team, so hopefully on Saturday we can show it."
