The match itself was far from a classic as the Reds failed to secure a single shot on target and had to make do with another clean sheet and a point on the road as the multi-sport pitch served to scupper both teams on a chilly evening in South Wales.
Clarke, who was hoping to see his team add to their recent win over Forest Green Rovers, offered his apologies for the Saddlers' drab display before thanking the travelling faithful for their commitment to the club.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Darrell said; "We'll take the positives out of it and apologise to our supporters who came because it wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination.
"But they appreciate the boys' effort and it's something for us to build on. I can only apologise that it wasn't a classic but they appreciate the grittiness of the performance.
"We really appreciate their support coming down on a miserable day, we thank them for their efforts."
