Alex Nicholls Takes Interim Charge of Stourbridge

Local BetVictor Southern League Premier Division Central side Stourbridge have confirmed that former Walsall striker Alex Nicholls will take charge of this evening's clash between the Glassboys and Royston Town.
32-year-old Nicholls, who has amassed over four-hundred professional appearances after playing for the likes of Walsall, Northampton Town, Exeter City, Barnet, Crewe Alexandra and Solihull Moors, joined Stourbridge after his short-term deal with Solihull came to an end.

The Club can confirm that Alex Nicholls will be in charge of the team at Royston tonight assisted by 1st team coach Lee Brown and James Wren.

We thank Alex for agreeing to take on the responsibility of overseeing tonight's away fixture at Royston following the decision of several of the previous backroom staff to leave the club.

Stourbridge are looking for a new manager following the recent departure of Ian Long, with chairman Andy Pountney revealing there have already been several expressions of interest in the vacancy.

We would like to wish Alex, who will be joined by former Walsall goalkeeper James Wren, all the best as he dips his toes into football management, at least in the short term.
